Maeve Martin, LMSW, LICSW, completed her Bachelors in Social Work at Alvernia University, in Reading, Pennsylvania, in 2006. She worked in community mental health and substance use disorder treatment for several years while completing her Masters in Social Work at Temple University, in Philadelphia, in 2011. From 2011 until 2017, she was employed at CODAC Behavioral Healthcare, in Providence, Rhode Island, where was was the co-coordinator of mental health services.

Since 2017, Maeve has continued to provide compassionate, trauma-informed mental health treatment in her small Providence-based private practice. She moved to upstate New York, in 2023, where she is currently a Licensed Master Social Worker. Her clinical work since 2017 has concentrated on working with members of the LGBTQIA+ population(s), where she has helped individuals, couples, groups, and families. Her work is grounded in social systems theory and aims to help people understand the ways that trauma and oppression impact upon their lives. A guiding principle of Maeve’s work is helping clients to clarify their values and begin to take steps towards embodying these values in practical ways. Her work has been informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Narrative therapy, and existential and humanistic models.
